Mango Leaf
Mangifera indica
Mango (Mangifera indica) is a large tree of fifteen to twenty metres, native to tropical Asia and now planted across the tropics. In Vietnam it is grown very widely in the south, and in recent years in a number of northern provinces, Sơn La above all, where the mangoes of Yên Châu and Mộc Châu are the best known. Its leaves are simple and alternate, long and narrow, smooth and glossy, fifteen to thirty centimetres long, and small pale yellow flowers gather in loose panicles at the branch tips. The fruit ripens in summer, while the leaves may be gathered at any time of year.
