Paederia foetida
Lá mơ lông is the leaf of a Paederia vine of the coffee family, Rubiaceae. The plant carrying that name in the source, mơ tam thể (Paederia tomentosa), is a climber of hedgerows growing wild in many parts of Vietnam, with opposite, long-stalked leaves, ovate to lance-shaped and rounded or heart-shaped at the base, and pale purple tubular flowers in branched cymes at the leaf axils and shoot tips. Only the leaf is taken, picked fresh. Paederia foetida is recorded as a very close species, differing in its flat fruit. The plant holds a volatile oil smelling strongly of carbon disulphide.
