Tiliacora Leaf
Tiliacora triandra
Tiliacora (Tiliacora triandra) is a woody climbing vine of the moonseed family, its ridged stems bearing alternate, simple leaves up to 17 cm long, tapering to a point, with three to five veins fanning from the base. Small yellowish flowers, male and female on separate plants, hang in short racemes from the leaf axils and from the older wood, ripening to clusters of red drupes under a centimetre across. It grows in forest and scrub up to 1300 metres, on rocky, clayey and limestone ground, from Assam and southern Burma through Indo-China and Thailand to Peninsular Malaysia. In Thailand the leafy shoots are used as a flavouring in cooking.
