Male Papaya Flower Extract
Carica papaya
Male papaya flowers come from Carica papaya, a tropical tree of 3 to 7 metres with a straight trunk covered in the scars of fallen leaf stalks and a crown of large, deeply lobed leaves on hollow stalks 30 to 50 centimetres long. The plant is dioecious: male and female flowers grow on separate trees, and the male flowers, pale white to greenish, hang from the leaf axils in panicles on very long stalks. Native to tropical America, papaya is grown everywhere in Vietnam, raised from seed, and starts bearing eight to ten months after planting; its flowers are among the parts gathered.
