Dracaena Heartwood Extract
Dracaena cambodiana
Huyết giác (Dracaena cambodiana) is the deep red wood that forms in the old, rotting trunks of a tree of one to one and a half metres, sometimes three, its stiff sword-shaped leaves 25 to 80 centimetres long and gathered in a tuft at the top; greenish-yellow flowers hang in sprays up to a metre, and the round berries dry black. It grows wild on the rocky hills of Quảng Ninh, Hà Nam, Nghệ An and Hà Tĩnh, and only trees long dead and decayed carry the red, which an insect or a fungus seems to bring on. The wood is cut year-round and dried.
