Fibraurea Extract

Fibraurea tinctoria

Fibraurea (Fibraurea tinctoria) is a woody climbing vine with a very hard, thick stem and stiff, smooth, three-veined leaves up to 20cm long, carried on long stalks swollen at each end; its branching flower panicles hang from the scars of fallen leaves. It grows wild in the mountain country throughout Vietnam, in Cao Bằng, Lạng Sơn, Hà Tây, Hòa Bình, Thanh Hóa, Hà Giang, Tuyên Quang, Nghệ An and Hà Tĩnh among other provinces. Stem and root, both yellow within, are gathered almost the whole year round, cut into lengths of 15 to 20cm and dried. Nothing else is done to them. The taste is bitter.
