Soursop Leaf Powder
Annona muricata
Soursop (Annona muricata) is a tree of six to eight metres, its bark dotted with small brown pores and its alternate leaves oval, pointed, hairless and fragrant, with seven to nine pairs of side veins. It came from the tropical Americas and was brought into Vietnam for its fruit, which is a common one in the southern provinces; the flowers open singly on the trunk and older branches. The leaves are among the parts gathered, and they are generally used fresh, steeped in hot water as a drink or added to food as a seasoning. They carry an essential oil with a pleasant scent of its own.
